The hotel’s name is taken form the Mondeval plane, the place where in 1986 the remains of a Mesolithic habitat were discovered along with the skeleton of a hunter known today as “The Mondeval Man”.
In 1987 in the village Mondevàl De Sora, mail to 2150 meters above sea level in the municipality of San Vito di Cadore, it was found a Mesolithic burial preserved almost intact.
In science was a discovery of world, because of the perfect state of preservation of organic origin and especially the high altitude in which was found a tomb of such antiquity.
Behind a large boulder , this Mesolithic site of high altitude that was already the subject of attention by scholars since 1985, unexpectedly revealed an intact skeleton of a hunter Stone Age dating from about 7,000 years ago.
